Executive Product Overview & Scope

FoodLab Hub connects passionate home chefs and boutique cloud kitchens with hungry customers nearby. Customers can explore diverse cuisines, customize food item add-ons, track their cart in real-time, and monitor order lifecycle milestones. As the lead Flutter Engineer across 84 commits, I designed the reactive client architecture, built the dynamic shopping cart engine, and integrated Google Maps geolocation.

Core Engineering Contributions & Technical Execution

#01

Engineered core client-side modules across 84 commits, including virtual kitchen browsing, cuisine taxonomy, and custom item add-ons.

#02

Built an interactive real-time Cart Drawer with dynamic delivery fee calculations, promo code validation, and multi-address management.

#03

Integrated Google Maps geolocation SDK for automatic user address reverse-geocoding and kitchen delivery radius verification.

#04

Implemented persistent local cart caching using encrypted local stores to preserve customer orders across app restarts and drops.

#05

Designed smooth 60fps micro-animations for food item cards, quantity steppers, and order status tracking timelines.

#06

Optimized high-resolution food image loading with memory-constrained caching and progressive placeholder rendering.

The Engineering Challenge

Displaying menus with hundreds of high-resolution food photos, ingredient options, and live pricing calculations was causing frame drops and scroll stutter on budget smartphones. Furthermore, sudden app terminations during checkout caused cart data loss, frustrating customers.

The Architectural Solution

Implemented `cached_network_image` with explicit downsampling memory limits and list view recycling to lock scrolling at a consistent 60fps. Built an auto-persisting CartRepository with reactive GetX state controllers, rehydrating cart selections within 5ms upon app restart.

Tangible Results & Measurable Impact

Delivered buttery-smooth 60fps list scrolling across low-end Android devices and sub-second cart transitions. Shipped to both Google Play Store and Apple App Store with 99.8% crash-free stability.
