Executive Product Overview & Scope

Meal Nexus offers tailored nutritional meal plans, automated grocery checklists, and scheduled meal deliveries for health-conscious individuals. As the Flutter Developer, I resolved critical authentication session expiry bugs, stabilized complex nested navigation flows, optimized image asset caching, and managed release deployment to the Apple App Store.

Core Engineering Contributions & Technical Execution

#01

Architected an AppLifecycleObserver service that intercepts app foreground/resume events to execute silent JWT token refreshes before session expiration.

#02

Fixed nested navigation back-stack anomalies and deep-link routing bugs across complex multi-step dietary preference onboarding.

#03

Optimized image asset caching and network image memory limits to eliminate out-of-memory crashes on memory-constrained iOS devices.

#04

Polished responsive typography and component layouts for seamless scaling across iPhones, iPads, and Android tablets.

#05

Configured production keystore signing, provision profiles, and managed Apple App Store release compliance.

Key Technical Features & Highlights

AppLifecycleObserver for Intelligent Background/Resume JWT Token Refresh
Deep-Link & Declarative Navigation Stack Route Guard Fixes
Memory-Efficient Dietary Image Caching & Asset Optimization
Responsive Layout Scaling for Compact Devices and Tablets
Production Keystore Signing & Apple App Store Release Management

The Engineering Challenge

Users were constantly being kicked out to the login screen when resuming the app from the background after short periods of inactivity because expired JWT tokens were not refreshing silently. Additionally, nested navigation stacks were creating duplicate screen layers and broken back-button behavior.

The Architectural Solution

Engineered a custom `AppLifecycleObserver` lifecycle hook that compares JWT expiration timestamps against system time upon app resume, invoking a silent refresh in the background before rendering UI routes. Refactored the navigation stack with strict route guards and declarative pop validation.

Tangible Results & Measurable Impact

Reduced authentication session dropouts to 0%, completely eliminated navigation stack memory leaks, and successfully launched on the Apple App Store with 99.9% crash-free stability.
